Jay Preston Construction LLC

Building, remodeling, and renovating for more than 32 years.

I focus on quality, craftsmanship, clear communication, and attention to every detail.

My goal is simple: to exceed your expectations.

I am a carpenter. I did not choose this profession—it chose me.

This is who I am and who I have become. Through my work, I have left a small part of myself in this world,

and I have always wanted it to be my best.

I am blessed to be an artist with a hammer and a life-sized canvas.

There is a deep sense of pride in looking back and knowing that I built something that will outlive me for generations.

The spec house featured here was probably my greatest work. As both the owner and builder, every decision was mine.

I could close my eyes and see the vision in remarkable detail, then open them and begin to build.

I often told people that I built that house one sunset at a time.

There was no blueprint on paper.

Whenever I needed to know what came next, I would close my eyes.

Every board, every beam, and every detail was part of a dream taking shape.

In the end, it became my greatest creation—so far.

The only thing I have ever worked harder at than being a carpenter was being both Mom and Dad as a single father.

My daughter has always been the greatest part of me. I watched her graduate from high school,

earn her degree, and build a life of her own in Tennessee.

I missed my daughter more than I could put into words. After 32 years in business, I made the decision

to relocate to Tennessee and begin a new chapter.

Starting over has not been easy.

Moving meant stepping away from the business I spent a lifetime building and facing the challenges

that come with a new market, new relationships, and a new beginning.

But builders understand something important: every great project starts with an empty lot.

If it is God's will, and if Tennessee gives me the opportunity, I will build again—one sunrise and one sunset at a time.

What I offer is thoughtful design, detailed estimates, decades of experience, and a

commitment to craftsmanship that has defined my career.

In 32 years of business, I have never had a callback.

I still believe what my father taught me all those years ago:

Your work is a reflection of who you are.

This is mine.

"I'm just trying to leave something behind."
